Are the Megaman 1 Robot Masters Good Again
Mega Human and the Robot Masters from the first two games.
This article is about the form of robots seen in the original Mega Homo series. For the rogue faction of robots seen in the Mega Man: Fully Charged serial, see Robot Masters.

Most, if not all, Robot Masters possess a Special Weapon, which can be acquired by Mega Man (and other characters such equally Proto Human and Bass) after the Robot Master is defeated.
Each Robot Primary has a "consciousness", although the level of every "cognitive circuit" embedded within each one of them varies, producing as many unlike "personality" types equally found in people. Like humans, they tin can speak, and have emotional responses like shyness or anger. When Mega Homo fights against a Robot Primary, he takes great intendance to non harm their integrated excursion flake's "cerebral circuit". As long equally the cognitive circuit isn't permanently destroyed, they can be rebuilt any number of times.[1]

Proper name origin
A selection of Robot Masters of Mega Man 2 through Mega Man 10, as well as the Robot Masters from Mega Homo & Bass and the Genesis Unit in Worlds Collide, led by Rouge Woman.
The name "Robot Primary" was first used in the North American educational activity manual of Mega Man iii in 1990, where it was used to identify the eight master robot bosses from the Stage Select Screen, and continued existence used until 1994, last appearing in the manuals of Mega Man half-dozen, Mega Human 5 and Mega Human's Soccer. In the showtime game's manual they were called "Humanoids" (a proper noun later used for "cyborgs" in the Mega Man ZX series). In Japan they are known every bit the Numbers (virtually beingness the Wily Numbers), and they are likewise known every bit "boss characters", "Wily'south robots", and similar names.[2]
Being present in instruction manuals, the term "Robot Master" was used past many gaming magazines and websites, the term became popular amongst fans and it was expanded to exist used for most humanoid robots from the original series as well those from the stage select screen. However, in that location isn't an official classification of what defines if a robot is or not a Robot Primary. To avoid discrepancies, in this wiki it is mainly used as a comprehensive term for all known Numbers, robots with advanced A.I. that possess a unique known identification code, consisting of a two-letter "series code" followed by one of "Northward", "No.", or "#", so a three-digit "serial number", the Light Numbers being the first to announced.[3] Other humanoid bosses such equally Copy Robot, Dr. Robot, and the four Night Man robots are considered special bosses instead of Numbers.[four] Exceptions for this are robots included in the book Mega Man: Robot Primary Field Guide (Doc Robot, the Nighttime Man serial, Duo, Rex, Fake Man, and Sunstar) and similar characters, particularly if they are bosses from the stage select, take "Man"/"Woman" in the stop of their name (enemies like Pickelman, Shotman, and Shadow Mega Man are not considered), and take a Special Weapon. If they don't fit these criteria, they will not be referred as Robot Masters fifty-fifty if they are humanoid robots with advanced AI, such as Auto, Plum, Fan, Karate 003, etc.
The term was also used in other media, such as the Archie Comics Mega Man series and in Mega Human: Fully Charged.[5] [6]
Design
Robot Masters generally have a theme that fit their name, appearance, environs, minions, weapon and weakness. For case, Wood Man has a tree theme, giving him a wood-similar appearance and a leaf-based ability. His level is forest-themed, every bit are his robot underlings, and, like a tree, he is weak to burn down and cutting attacks. Fortress bosses like Male monarch, playable characters like Bass, or support characters like Roll generally practise non have such themes.
Dr. Low-cal believes it is important that his robots have a adept epitome to present. For instance, he could have done Guts Homo smaller, but decided to make him every bit he did to give a good impression.[3]
In Hitoshi Ariga's Mega Man Megamix and Mega Man Gigamix novels, a recurring design element found on most of the Wily Numbers is a chugalug buckle adorned with a West. Opposite this, the Light Numbers feature an R (due to the translation of Dr. Light's name from Dr. Right) on their chests. Dr. Cossack's robots and the robots of Mega Man 6, who were built past individual nations, lack any particular distinctive symbol of their own.
List of Robot Masters
Each Robot Master from Dr. Light and Dr. Wily accept a series number, listed in the format of DLN-000, DLN000, or DLN. 000. Certain series simply have two digits (the MWN serial, specifically), whereas the remainder have iii digit series codes. Those robots have different serials, simply share the aforementioned numbering sequence. They are numbered past order of creation.[4]
In Archie Comics' Mega Man comic book serial, Robot Masters are numbered after the time of their conception, not of their creation.[7] For example, DWN-018 Magnet Man was finished earlier DWN-017 Needle Man in the comic. Additionally, several Robot Masters featured in other games, like Plant Human, Centaur Man, and Pump Man, are shown to have been constructed some time before the events based on Mega Human three, and some take a serial number not present in the games, like Time Homo and Oil Man.
The name of the Robot Masters have alternate spelling depending of the source, some having space between the first role of their proper name and "Man", and others not. For instance, Mega Man is the only Robot Primary in the English version of Mega Man & Bass to have his proper name together, while other Robot Masters have a space in their names. In Mega Man: Powered Up, the changed is truthful. There is also a few instances where their names are written equally "NameMan". For convenience, the name of all Robot Masters are written with space in this wiki, since this is the nearly used transcription outside Japan. Japanese names such as Rockman are written without space.
